The Summer 2018 AcmeEntrepreneur program will be 6 weeks long - Lectures will be held Saturday mornings from 10am-12pm. They will be very fast paced 6 weeks for the students where the students will learn many things with regard to how to create a business or value for a business. This will increase the intrinsic value of the student in the market for life.

You will be responsible for your own transportation.

DATES

First class will be on Saturday, June 30th. Last class will be on Saturday, August 4th.
Classes will be held on Saturday morning from 10am-12pm.

COURSE MATERIALS

The exact reading material will be prescribed before the program starts. Some of the optional reading books used previously include: The Facebook Era, Business Plan Development, Customer Centric Selling, The Lean Startup, Technology Venture Formation, Patent it Yourself, The 4 Hour Workweek, The Lean Startup, Rich Dad Poor Dad, What I Wish I Knew When I was 20, The Future of the Internet etc. Classroom games have included Monopoly and Cash Flow amongst other business teaching games.

OBJECTIVES:

Students will be introduced to many concepts like leadership, corporate structure, market planning, supply chain management, creative thinking, project management, marketing and advertising, strategy, venture capital and investments, stock market, capital structure, negotiation, pitching powerpoint decks, selling, creating business plans and executing them. They will work in teams to get hands on experience in areas of their own interest.

TEACHER CREDENTIALS:

Aditya Mittal is an alumnus of Stanford University in Computational Mathematics and Engineering. His undergraduate degrees are in Physics and Computer Engineering. Aditya has worked as research scientist at NASA, Ames, as a software engineer at Stanford Medical Center, and in Chegg's business intelligence team. He is now an author of three published books, a senior web architect, and a serial entrepreneur. Aditya has experience building products, marketing products, building teams, raising investments and more. PROGRAM SCHEDULE:

  • Week 1 - 6/30 - Personal Development, Speech, Motivation and team building (project topics?) - meet more young entrepreneurs, Paul Campbell, Ooshma Garg, Dan Thompson etc (Exact speaker list TBD).
  • Week 1 - 6/30 - Understanding pros and cons of large and small markets, market trends in different industries, project validation - discovering customers, visit companies both big and small, explore what is interesting
  • Week 2 - 7/7 - Technology and scope, working on projects, computer museum field trip
  • Week 2 - 7/7 - Initial project demos, meet companies and collect feedback
  • Week 3 - 7/14 - Final touches, embellishment, and marketing plan - Sales talk from Eva (15 years in high tech sales TBD)
  • Week 3 - 7/14 - Business Intelligence, Analytics, and Marketing model development; meet industry experts like Tom Kosnik (Stanford marketing prof. TBD) and/or leading business analysts.
  • Week 4 - 7/21 - Financial model development for scalable, capital-intensive projects
  • Week 4 - 7/21 - Final project presentation/demonstration to customers, companies, or investors
  • Week 5 - 7/28 - Legal issues, Patents, and Design Issues
  • Week 6 - 8/4 - Resume building, strategy, and negotiation

COST:

$500 for students at partner schools listed on School Partners
$800 for other students and general public. To reserve your spot, you can prepay. The full payment is due on the first day of class.
